Can I sign up for Privy Business if I already have a Kotak Current Account?

To be eligible, you must meet certain relationship value criteria. The relationship value is calculated based on the combined holdings of all family accounts. Eligible existing customers will receive an invitation and can upgrade by submitting a consent and upgrade form.

I don’t have a Kotak account. How can I join?

You can apply for Privy Business through our website. Our team will then get in touch with you with the details and eligibility criteria. Alternatively, you can also visit your nearest Kotak Mahindra Bank branch.

What is the initial deposit required to open a Current Account under the Privy Business and Privy+ Business programmes?

To open a Current Account under these programmes, an initial deposit of ₹5 lakh is required for the Privy Business programme, and ₹10 lakh for the Privy+ Business programme.

How is the relationship value calculated?

The relationship value constitutes combined holdings of Current/Savings Accounts (Average monthly balances), Term deposits, Value of present Mutual fund holding and Life insurances till date + 30% of sanctioned value of live loans (Inclusions – Kotak Home Loan, Loan Against Property, Working Capital, Overdraft, Cash credit, Business Loan, Healthcare finance) + 30% value of month-end Demat holdings with Kotak securities of the particular month with a linked Kotak Account.

Please note that Relationship Value is calculated at a group level. Only mutual funds (Including structured products) subscribed through Kotak Mahindra Bank and Insurance policies bought from Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance sourced by Kotak Mahindra Bank will be considered.

Can I extend Privy Business benefits to my family members?

Yes, you can extend the benefits to select family members including your spouse, parents, minor children, son/daughter, and daughter-in-law. While you must authenticate the relationship, no relationship proof is required.

Additionally:

  • Non-individual accounts (such as businesses where a family member is an owner, partner, or director) can also be grouped.
  • HUF accounts can be grouped if the Karta is part of the Privy group.
  • Minors can be included but cannot be the primary account holder.
  • Certain accounts – such as public charitable institutions, NGOs, government bodies, and clubs – cannot be grouped.
  • A maximum of 15 accounts can be grouped under one Privy relationship.

If I upgrade to Privy Business, will my grouped family members also be upgraded?

Yes, all grouped members will be upgraded and can enjoy the benefits of Privy Business.

What happens if my relationship value drops below the required threshold?

The bank will review your eligibility periodically. If the relationship value requirement is not met, the bank may withdraw the Privy Business benefits with prior notice. In such a case, standard fees, charges, and minimum balance requirements will apply based on your account type.

When will I receive my Privy Business Debit Card and chequebook?

The Debit Card (if applicable) will be issued within 5-7 working days after your Privy upgrade. The chequebook must be manually requested via the Kotak Mobile Banking App, Net Banking, or through your Relationship Manager.
