Direct tax payment is the process of paying taxes directly where the tax incidence and impact fall on the same entity. In such instance, the taxpayer cannot pass it on to a different entity or individual.
E-filing 2.0 Portal allows online tax payments via Kotak Net Banking Account or via Kotak payment gateway through various modes, including credit card, debit card, UPI, and international credit card of any bank.
Customers can also make direct tax payments by visiting the Kotak branch by submitting a physical copy of the tax challan along with the payment. Alternatively, they can make payments at authorised collection centres or through authorised agents.
An individual or entity paying TAN may create challan from E-filing 2.0 Portal e-pay Tax functionality with credentials and filling put details like Assessment Year, Type of payment, Payment details and proceed to pay taxes online or offline. Kotak customers can make their TAN payment through the Efiling 2.0 Portal directly.
“CRN” refers to Challan Reference Number, which is a 14-digit number comprising your date of birth in the format yy/mm/dd followed by an eight-digit sequence number. This number gets generated by TIN 2.0 on the successful generation of a challan form.
CIN stands for Challan Identification Number, which is a 18-digit number that includes your 14-digit CPIN and four-digit Bank Code (KKBK). A CIN is generated by an authorised bank upon the receipt of payment and its subsequent credit in the relevant government account held with them. Challan Identification Number (CIN) is CRN + Bank Code.
